Eternal Life

Eternal life.

Now for many you have heard john 3:16. It can easily be “oh yah I know it” but let’s really look at it.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

First off He LOVED

second GAVE... what THANK YOU JESUS!

To perish is to die.

Eternal: everlasting

Life: the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body; spiritual existence transcending physical death.

Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin and to give us life forever. In eternity and

HERE AND NOW. He died so we don’t have to be bound by sin and darkness forever and now.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 6:23 NIV

For our sin we deserve death but Jesus came and saved all those who believe in Him from it. He came on a rescue mission. What does death look like? Or even feel like? Anxiety? Stress? Comparison? Loneliness? Hopelessness? Why do these cause death? Because they are not of God. You see God wants to bring us LIFE in all areas. He not only has saved us but sets us free. So often we don’t sit and allow Him to set us free. It is a process, because often the lies/death go deep.

The Lord is so direct when He says “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

We must take our thoughts captive. Why am I thinking this? Thoughts become beliefs which then turn into actions. That is why the word says

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Philippians 4:8 NIV

God loves you, He has saved you from ultimate separation from Him. He wants us to

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”

Hebrews 12:1 NIV

Let’s take off everything that hinders us from what He has for us so we can run as warriors for the Kingdom experiencing His everlasting life here on earth.

Question: what is hindering you? Past? Present? Future? Write it out. Then take time to ask the Lord where it started and what He says about it!
