Delight

by London Lynn

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

The divine beauty of delight. Simple, sweet, gracious delight. To be lite as a feather in the presence of God with awe in your eyes to Jesus. We were created for delight; To see the beauty of creation that He has divinely created for our enjoyment. How beautiful is it to be able to rest in nature looking around, knowing that with words The Lord created everything. The trees, the animals, you, me. How sweet is it to know Jesus. How free is it to know that the creator of the whole world knows you. Child of God, do not be weighed down by the world. For that burden is too heavy to hold. That is not our portion in the Kingdom of Heaven, you were bought with a price. You were created, for more than to worry about tomorrow or to remain in the past. Be lite in The Fathers love. We weren’t created to focus on ourselves but to focus on the Lord to gaze upon His beauty. To be in awe of who He is. To be at rest trusting His words. To see and feel the depth of His love in every moment of our lives. We wern't created to carry the weight of the world; but to rest in His love. When we learn to rest in Him, the adventure of life truly begins.

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalms 91:1-2 NIV

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

“Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 18:4 ESV

QUESTIONS: what is keeping you from resting in His love? What is hindering your simple delight in Almighty King Jesus? What is weighing you down in your heart that the Lord is desiring for you to surrender to Him this day? What is the Lord showing/teaching you?
