Goodmorning,
Isaiah 25
Praise to the Lord
***I said Psalms 25 I meant Isaiah 25 SOOO SORRY!
“LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, You have made the city a heap of rubble the fortified town a ruin, the foreigners’ stronghold a city no more; it will never be rebuilt. Therefore strong peoples will honor you, cities of ruthless nations will revere you. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall and like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud so the strong of the ruthless is stilled. On the mountain of the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine-the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever, The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.”
We are facing times in which cause a lot of uncertainty. There is a layer of unknown that is present in each one of our lives. When reading Isaiah 25 we can be encouraged that The Lord has our back. That He hasn’t forgotten us. We as Christians can rest in the promises through the unknown. We are His children, we are His beloved. Rest requires trust in what you're resting in. Who are you in? Are you in Christ? Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior are now in Him. But are you going to Abide in Him?
Abiding in Christ allows our souls to rest. Rest doesn’t mean that we are not thinking of the healthiest, and safest way to do something. Abiding means that no matter what is going on around me that I make the conscious choice to die to myself and to operate in my Spirit man. Who God says I am, What God says about my situation, dead to the old self and alive and safe in His will over my life. It means that the position of my heart is before my God my King humbled and surrendered. That nothing around me changes the peace, joy, confort, and truth I believe and find in Jesus Christ. He has swallowed up death forever. He is sovereign which means supreme ruler, one processing or held to process supreme political power or sovereignty. He is God and everything is in His hands. He knew this was going to take place, therefore He already has a plan. We have a choice, we can look to this world or to Jesus. It's simple. One gives into fear one takes faith. Therefore, our confidence is not in what we can see but what we know to be true. The truth you believe will come out when it is challenged. What are you standing on as truth? Are you standing on the truth that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, that He is for us and not against us. We cling onto the truth and allow ourselves to be led by His Spirit into all truth. In moments of doubt or unknown rest in what you do know.
I encourage you to write down what areas might be present that are not allowing you to believe any of these truths. What might be coming in the way in resting in this truth? Have you had an experience when you didn’t feel like God was true to His word? If so come before Him and have Him show you the truth. He was there and He is consistent in His words. Invite Him in to restore everything hurt, broken and wounded. That the truth:
