Your choice.

Matthew 7:13-14 ESV

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

Joshua 24:15 ESV

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Romans 12:2 ESV

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

The power of choice. Choice is such a powerful thing. You choose who you serve, who you submit to, who you please and who you live for. The choices greatly affect our lives. The choices you make will show you the direction of where you're going. What do you base the choice you make off of? Do you make your choices off of what you feel or what you know to be true. This time of our lives is slow and it is important to assess. Who am I living for? Who is influencing what I do? Is it social media? Am I being influenced by people or by God? In the old testament the Lord gave us the 10 commandments. These commandments were to keep ourselves from sinning ultimately to keep our hearts safe. These boundaries were given to us not to take away our fun but to actually protect us from the evil one. As we understand who we are in Christ and our oneness with Him because of the cross our choices start to change. The Lord gave us the Holy Spirit inside of us to help us make the choices that are pleasing to God. The choices we make directly affect everything. How are you protecting your time? Are you allowing Jesus to protect your heart and life or have you taken that into your own hands? I know in my own life there have been many choices I have made out of my flesh. This has led to hurt. Yes, Jesus does take the wrong choices and always makes beauty out of ashes when you surrender to Him. Recently I had some hard choices to make. I thought I knew exactly where God wanted me in the next couple of years but didn't know forsure. It was said “What is the next wisest decision” - Ed Boontjer. So through prayer I said Lord I don’t care, I surrender what is the next wisest choice? And he was faithful to show me. You see the more we understand the truth the more we truly live. When we allow The Lord to guide our choices it leads to life. God is truth, His words are truth and the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. In the quietness of your time with him, allow Him to show you His will in and through your life. It might be one step at a time. This means to read His word with open hearts, “Here I am Lord teach me whatever YOU want to teach me”. Coming into time with Him with open and surrendered hearts allows Him to teach you whatever HE wants to. No agenda but to receive whatever He has for you in that moment.
