DEVOTIONAL: Romans 1:17
“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.””
Romans 1:17 NKJV
•
Let’s remember the verse before.
•
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
Romans 1:16 NKJV
•
So for in the power of God and receiving His free gift of salvation. In that the righteousness of God is revealed.... READ THIS WOOOO LONG BUT GOOD!!!!
•
Righteousness: Purity of heart and rectitude of life; conformity of heart and life to the divine law. righteousness as used in Scripture and theology, in which it is chiefly used, is nearly equivalent to holiness, comprehending holy principles and affections of heart, and conformity of life to the divine law. It includes all we call justice, honesty and virtue, with holy affections; in short, it is true religion.

Re read this verse (romans 1:17 with definition of righteousness)
•
WOW!
•
Faith: Belief; the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, resting on his authority and veracity, without other evidence; the judgment that what another states or testifies is the truth.
•
We are to live by faith. We must believe the Words of Christ and the Bible. It changes everything. As you read the word of God allow it to read your life!
•
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
•
We must put all of our hope in Christ alone.
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
•
Hebrews 11 if you have time! Great read!
•
Hope: A desire of some good, accompanied with at least a slight expectation of obtaining it, or a belief that it is obtainable.
•
We must live by faith! We must rest (trusting the truth... believing the truth) in faith. We might not see what is ahead right now but we are to live by faith!
•
We are saved by our belief in God through the cross. He saves is from eternal seperation from Him here and forevermore and also wants to set us free! (Free from lies we believe) and from there we are to live in faith. “I know because I know because I know.”
•
As we grow closer to Him. Trust is built by spending time with someone. Our faith increases! What so cool! When we spend time with Jesus reading His word, praying, worshiping, doing every moment with Him, our faith will grow and grow!
•
Questions: How do you see faith differently? How have you been encouraged by this study? What does the Lord want to reveal to you? Are you living by faith? What is stopping you?
