His deep love for you.

Happy Monday! Wherever you find yourself, I want you to know this, God is madly in love with you. His love for you goes past what you think of yourself, what you know and He wants to show you that.

I have been reflecting this weekend on His deep love. It is a sweet love that is secure and safe. His love doesn’t look at our achievements or accomplishments. His love is the greatest love story the world has ever seen.

As I was reflecting the Lord showed me that often times perfectionism can get in the way of receiving His deep love. Many times we think that we have to achieve or be “right” in order to receive His love. He simply asks us to open our hearts and lives believing what He says. Our own perimeters of how we should recieve His love can hinder us from receiving His abundant love.

Think about what might be hindering you from receiving His tender, deep love for you. Is there something you haven’t told Him. Sometimes when I stop and reflect. I realize that deep down I think that I have to know what is going on in my heart in order to come to Him with complete thoughts. But then sometimes can’t put the right words with the feelings. Then feeling overwhelmed by this I don't bring it to Him. Recently, I have been writing down what is in my head and heart on paper. God doesn’t expect us to show up perfect, He expects us to show up. He desires us to be honest with where we are and wanting His help.

1 John 1:5-7 say:

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Allow yourself time and space to allow Him in. The truth of His words drive out all the darkness of the world. It drives out the lies that creep up. The more we allow Him to love us deeply the more we can deeply love others. We can never give away anything we first haven’t received from Him. Being emotionally honest with the Lord tills the soil of our hearts to allow the seeds of truth to be planted and grow. Till the soil with Him and allow His deep love to illuminate and nourish. I love this passage because it talks about light. Light in a physical form helps plants grow. As we allow Him to till the soil of our hearts and plant seeds of truth, He will water them and bring light which is tender nutrient leading to growth.

Sisters and friends, wherever you find youreslf don't run ahead of Him. Walk with Him. I was on a walk earlier today and came across a beautiful pond, with mountains in the back ground and palm tress surrounding. I thought to myself, "How did I miss this beautiful open area of land?" Right on the other side of this massive pond was a freeway. The Lord showed me that often times we get on the freeway of life going so fast that we don’t get to see the unique beauty that is around us. Friends, don’t rush this life away. We only have one. Let us create space and rhythms that allow us to walk with God. Lets slow down and enjoy His presence. Let's not get ahead of Him. Let's create new rhythm that allows us to smell the flowers and enjoy His nearness, so we can truly open up and allow His light to shine in us. How can we create paces of life that allow us to feel His presence and to respond.

What affirmation is your heart desiring that is creating a, “strive”, “have to”, “always busy”, mindset? How can you allow His light in?
